The University Eye Center is a full service eye care facility and is open to the public.

Perform opening and closing clinic duties
Answer phone calls, update patient demographics, schedule appointments and direct calls to appropriate area of the clinic
Greet and Check in patients, copy ID's and insurance cards
Check patient Electronic Medical Record for accuracy and completion.
Scan documents into electronic health record
Guide patients to the optical area for assistance in ordering glasses
Checkout all patients, calculate patient charges and collect appropriate copays and fees.
Schedule follow up appointments as needed
Check schedules for added, canceled and no-show appointments throughout the day
Prepare for next day scheduled appointments by verifying insurance and calculating patient responsibility
Reconcile all payments collected throughout the day
Ensure that all HIPAA rules and regulations are followed
May be required to perform other duties as assigned
A high school diploma and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired is necessary.
1-3 years patient/customer service experience
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Word, knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Excel is desired
Experience in a health / patient care environment
Experience working with insurances and insurance companies desired
Familiarity with medical terminology, particularly Optometry and Ophthalmology desired
