The Events and Program Coordinator (EPC) builds community and creates smooth and compelling learning experiences for Presidio’s students, faculty, and more. He or she is a critical member of a small team of committed, idealistic team members who believe that education can create a more just and sustainable world for all.
This is an ideal role for someone who is motivated, data-oriented, organized, and skilled at relationship management. The EPC should be goal-oriented, creative, diplomatic, and resourceful, while adhering to strict deadlines and creating organizational systems for maximum efficiency and student support. The EPC will be student-centric and enjoy creating innovative opportunities for students to benefit from their Presidio education. The EPC must be skilled at building great relationships with colleagues, realizing that student success is an institutional initiative that requires communication and collaboration. The EPC will provide key information that helps leverage the institution’s strategy and direction, remaining enthusiastic about and committed to PGS’s goals, values, and future.
Coordinate monthly class residency (4 days per month – Bay Area)
Plan all residency-related logistics
Coordinate and/or order all residency-related logistics: food, technology, name tags, lanyards, etc
Coordinate as needed with staff and faculty to execute successful residencies
Support basic technological needs
Setup and tear down of all classrooms
Early mornings, evenings and weekend physical presence is required
Manage high value university-wide and student events (Bay Area and online)
Facilitate and manage New Student Orientation every semester and annual Commencement ceremony
Develop student events each semester that build community and enhance learning objectives
Support event coordination for other Presidio departments and stakeholders, including the launch of a new Presidio event series to raise the school’s profile and visibility Provide outstanding student services to student body of 200 online and hybrid students
Act as the first point of contact for student questions and concerns, and provide warm transfers/referrals as needed
Act in conjunction with the Admissions, Registrar, Academics, and Student Billing departments to create a smooth transition for new PGS students
Establish and maintain positive relationships with students by providing robust support and assessing and responding to student needs in a timely manner
Facilitate, support, and provide advisement and structure to student reps, clubs and groups
This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about building a robust student services and resources in a high touch environment at a growing institution. Candidates must demonstrate that they have the skills, knowledge, and enthusiasm to manage the student experience in a highly engaged, collaborative environment. This requires positivity, innovation, detail-orientation, and excellent resource management.
Ideally, candidates will have experience working in a fast-paced, student-centric environment with specific experience in event management. A bachelor’s degree is required.
