Normal Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m
Job Summary: The IT Technical Specialist III performs advanced professional IT activities for a specialized, complex assignment or functional area requiring application of an advanced professional knowledge of IT principles, practices, and procedures. Requires evaluation, originality or ingenuity. May supervise and/or direct the work of project teams or other lower level staff.
Additional Department Summary: The Information Systems Analyst is responsible for the assessment, development, and implementation of computerized systems and reports that support management and delivery of distance degree programs.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree ; OR Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of IT experience; OR Associate’s degree and four (4) years of IT experience; OR High School Diploma or GED and six (6) years of IT experience. Knowledge of advanced programming, networking, system, multimedia, instructional technology skills or project management methods and applications. May require intermediate or advanced level training or certification.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Experience in information technology or information systems which may include programming, systems analysis, computer networking, or application of software utilization. Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 21 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report as determined by the insurance carrier.
Skills and Knowledge: Experience with web authoring languages such as HTML, JAVA, etc. Excellent oral and written communication skills and effective time management and organizational skills. Knowledge and training in computer software and system operations, as well as knowledge in the use of various computer applications such as Dreamweaver, Cyrstal Reports, Banner, Adobe products, Microsoft applications, FrontPage, FileMaker Pro., Mac operating systems, etc. Ability to act independently. Ability to interact on highly technical issues with a wide variety of people of varying levels of technical ability and understanding.
Preferred Qualifications: Prefer individual with experience in higher education, including development of reporting data, experience with compliance and regulatory policies/procedures, and understanding of Banner student and financial systems.
