Employees in this class are under general supervision. Work performed in a variety of skilled maintenance tasks including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, air conditioning and refrigeration, and in leading Maintenance Mechanics in the performance of the duties, and performing related work as required. Job duties include:
Installs or repairs electrical outlets, lighting fixtures, timers, motor controls, electric motors, air compressors, air conditioning and refrigeration units and a variety of other electrical equipment.
Installs or repairs all types of plumbing fixtures, water lines, water heaters, etc.
Repairs racks and supports, ladders, metal furniture, and sports equipment using an arc welder, brazing torch, and cutting torch.
Performs a variety of carpentry tasks in the construction and maintenance of building and other facilities.
Leads maintenance staff.
Coordinates preventive maintenance program.
Performs other work as assigned.
Background check required.
Must be able to work any shift or schedule. Overtime will be required as necessary. Facilities employees may be required to report at their regularly scheduled times during emergency closures or during inclement weather to perform essential functions including snow removal duties.
