Job Description Summary Reporting to the VP & Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer, the Director, Office of Diversity and Inclusion (ODI) provides leadership, guidance, and support for campus-wide strategic efforts to operationalize Bentley's commitment to Inclusive Excellence throughout the University. The Director will work in partnership with members of the ODI staff to develop and implement strategic plans in alignment with DEI goals, design and deliver innovative DE&I focused training, provide assistance and guidance to DE&I efforts across all divisions. In addition, the Director will guide the university in collecting, analyzing and utilizing data to inform and create assessment driven practices to ensure equitable outcomes on campus. This critical role will allow the Office of Diversity & Inclusion to more effectively answer the growing needs of Bentley's community for a proactive strategy that impacts diversity, inclusion and equity across all divisions.
In conjunction with the VP, develop, implement, and promote the campus-wide Inclusive Excellence strategy and equity and justice initiatives.
Lead efforts to examine campus-wide policies, practices, and services to develop data-driven equity plans aimed at increasing access and success metrics across the University.
Work across divisions to develop reports and dashboards focused on key Diversity and Inclusion performance metrics with the ultimate goal of allowing Bentley to assess its progress towards creating a culture of Inclusive Excellence
Coordinate efforts to assess campus climate and oversee affinity group activities
Assess needs for equity and inclusion related programming and training among community members; develop initiatives and facilitate workshops that close the gap.
Act as an ODI liaison with various staff, faculty and student programs to ensure consistency of message and efficiency of delivery in addressing various Diversity Excellence & Inclusion (DE&I) topics
Continually keep abreast of the current cultural climate around diversity, inclusion, equity, and justice issues and apply those learnings through the work done at ODI.
Serve as a resource to the campus community on matters related to DE&I
Bachelor's Degree plus 5-7 years of related experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of and experience working to promote diversity, inclusion, equity within organizations.
Well-developed written and oral communication skills with the ability to interface with and present to diverse populations and all levels of constituents.
Demonstrated success as a collaborator and relationship builder, with strong interpersonal skills and ability to build coalitions and collaborative working relationships with a broad range of diverse individuals and groups
Demonstrated knowledge and cultural awareness to navigate a complex and charged landscape.
Knowledge of Inclusive Excellence framework
Typical office setting with extensive sitting and computer work
May travel offsite to attend meetings and other work-related functions. Travel may occur outside of normal business hours.
