The Division of Infectious Diseases is part of the Department of Medicine within the School of Medicine at Oregon Health & Science University. We are a group of academic physicians, allied health professionals and nurse practitioners specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases and related disorders.
The Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) contributes to the Infectious Disease Clinical Research Program at OHSU, by facilitating a multidisciplinary and collaborative approach in the conduct of human subjects research and is responsible for the overall management of study activities. The CRC will assist in the following areas:
Acquisition of studies through grant applications and evaluation of investigator-initiated studies, feasibility evaluations, completion of regulatory documents as required by the OHSU IRB and funders/sponsors, operationalization of study activities and managing logistics, creation and modifications of study budgets, contract and grant review, protocol development and design, and generation of standard operating procedures.
Develop data collection instruments, checklists, and workflows, both general and study-specific, and oversee data entry for assigned studies.
Responsible for the provision of care within the research unit, ensuring efficient workflow and adequate care and treatment of research subjects through the following study-specific duties: recruiting and scheduling participants, scheduling meetings, data collection and entry, biological specimen collection, packaging and shipping, non-invasive testing (e.g. vitals, EKGs), and venipuncture blood collection.
Maintains the master regulatory files, orders study supplies and investigational product, and performs ongoing data monitoring activities. The CRC is responsible for facilitating monitor/auditor visits and for assuring compliance with all findings.
The Clinical Research Coordinator will also assist in the continuing education of physicians, residents, interns, nurses and other related personnel with regards to knowledge of clinical trials and activities.
Bachelors Degree with major courses in field of research and 1 to 3 years of relevant experience OR
AA/RN (2 yr) and 3 years of relevant experience
Working knowledge of FDA IDE/IND submission process, eCRIS, eIRB, and experience with REDCap
Familiarity with electronic medical records (preferably EPIC), chart review and medical terminology
