Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Secretary I for the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. Under the direction of the Program Coordinator, the Secretary I position will provide high level administrative services in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Provides high level confidential professional/administrative services and assistance in the Department.
Be proficient with the Moodle program to upload course schedules, syllabuses, lecture materials, etc. for all Departmental courses.
Reserves/confirms lecture rooms and prepares hard copies of the mid-term and final examinations for all Departmental courses.
Reserves/confirms rooms for Departmental seminars and meetings as directed.
Assists with preparation/processing of grant applications and supporting documents/materials.
Assists with daily operation of the Departmental administrative matters; serves as the point/contact person for the Facilities and Housekeeping.
Prepares and/or compiles data for special reports and analyses, monthly reports, program evaluations, and other related reports.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Graduation from an accredited program in secretarial studies.
Four (4) years of full-time secretarial experience.
An additional year of experience is required in lieu of the secretarial program.
Experience with additional software packages as required by the department.
College credits may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for secretarial experience.
Up to sixty (60) credits may be substituted for two (2) years of secretarial experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proficiency in typing and experience with word processing packages.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills.
