Under supervision of a registered nurse in the assigned department, performs a wide variety of patient care activities in support of clinic activity. This includes prioritizing and assisting in patient triage processing, preparation and assistance with patient examinations, administering medications, drawing blood, collecting and preparing laboratory tests, patient education and venipuncture and IV access. Provides support to technologists/Radiologists by scheduling procedures, processing radiographs, transporting patients/preparing for radiographic procedures, downloading outside CDs into the Picture Archival Computer System (PACS), operating film digitization equipment, CD burners, document scanners and similar accessories. Position requires initiative, ability to prioritize critical demands and the ability to work in a team environment
Completion of educational requirements for licensure as a licensed vocational nurse in California.
Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) - issued by the state of California.
Certification in Intravenous Therapy issued by the state of California (LVN IV).
BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART w/in 6 months of hire date
Must possess the skills, knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
Knowledge of universal precautions and proper use of body mechanics.
Computer knowledge required.
Recent experience in a similar role and setting.
ACLS and/or ART.
Certification in Intravenous Therapy issued by the state of California (LVN IV)
Knowledge of PACS, Computerized Radiography (CR), and Digital Radiography (DR).
Knowledge of Radiology Information System (RIS) and Hospital Information System (HIS).
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Must be able to work flexible hours which may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, on-call, and some overtime, if necessary, for unexpected staffing issues.
Must be able to work various locations based on business needs.
