Working under direct supervision, incumbent performs routine magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures for diagnostic purposes in accordance with established guidelines and MRI protocols. Demonstrates and applies knowledge of principles of MRI safety. Prepares and positions patient for procedure by using established MRI protocols to achieve the highest quality image. Follows protocols specified by the Radiologist.
Administers contrast media per protocol. Educates patient, collects patient history, communicates patient information to the Radiologist, and prepares patient for procedure. Enters complex data into the computer system. Reviews, verifies and evaluates images to ensure technical quality and image quality. Troubleshoots and resolves MRI-related PACS issues. Performs other duties as assigned.
Graduate of a school of radiologic technology or MRI Technology program.
Registered Technologist for Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) issued by ARRT or ARMRIT.
Venipuncture certification within six (6) months of hire date.
BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
Recent experience in a similar role and setting or new graduate of an approved MRI technology program.
Possess the skills, knowledge, and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
Proven knowledge of radiological computerized systems and applications.
Thorough understanding of various radiological systems to include PACS and RIS.
Six (6) months of recent relevant experience.
Previous hospital experience.
Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
