ASSISTANT DIRECTOR, STUDENT SUPPORT AND DIVERSITY , Program in Media Arts and Sciences (MAS) , to provide administrative leadership and implementation on efforts to recruit and support MAS graduate students. Responsibilities include working closely with the head of the MAS program and the director of academic program administration, advising MAS students and outside RAs on a case-by-case basis regarding concerns rangingfrom the personal to the academic; managing MAS recruitment and student enrollment; creating opportunities for students to provide feedback; working with faculty and MAS leadership to resolve student issues; working with MAS leadership to design and implementa strategy to increase awareness of and applications to the MAS Master's Program among women and underrepresented minority students; and organizing the Media Lab/MAS Diversity Committee.
REQUIRED : at least three years of experience with and a track record in student support services, including experience with recruitment of women and underrepresented minority students; a bachelor's degree; a background in STEAM fields or higher education; experience planning events; sensitivity to organizational dynamics with ability to build and foster relationships within MAS and the lab; excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills; and initiative. Seek a self-starter and team player with a flexible approach to the workload who is able to anticipate issues, analyze data, solve problems effectively, and handle varied tasks concurrently in a fast-paced and sometimes pressured setting.
