Provides professional engineering services to meet client requests/needs and to manage the day-to-day activities of other project team members. - Performs assignments and responsibilities of varying degrees of complexity and diversity; may guide others as necessary on these assignments and responsibilities - Provides perspectives that impact outcomes for the University utilizing both experience and expertise - Coordinates, manages, and executes projects in conjunction with policies/ project goals - Prepares/finalizes budgets at various stages and carefully monitors to ensure projects stay within budget - Solves complex problems and analyses, taking a new perspective on existing solutions - Exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information, determining gaps, providing recommendations, etc. - May lead large projects with varying risks and resource requirements - Impacts a range of customer, operational, project or service activities within own team and other related teams - Explains difficult or sensitive information and works to build consensus - Ensures adequate and timely materials, supplies, equipment and/or fabrication to meet project goals. - Regularly collaborates with others inside and outside functional area (e.g., negotiating vendor fees, maintaining contractor relationships
Key Responsibilities: - Review project documents to ensure mechanical systems meet campus energy/design standards. - Produce control drawings and sequence of operation for campus projects. - Program and commission mechanical control systems. - Provide engineering support for installation and service control technicians. - Manage project workloads, schedules, and budgets for campus controls installations. - Assist with commissioning and testing and balancing efforts. - Coordinate campus continuous commissioning and fault detection efforts. - Develop and maintain campus energy standards. - Initiate and oversee energy conservation projects. - Provide engineering oversite and support for the process control network. - Manage control system database. - Provide engineering support for the campus card access system. - Supervise engineering student interns.
Salary Range: $62,000 - $118,752

Licensure or certification may be required
A Bachelor of Science in Engineering and at least five years of related work experience in the design and operation of commercial HVAC systems is required. Prior experience designing and programming controls for commercial HVAC systems is preferred. A PE license or the ability to obtain a license in the state of Missouri is preferred. Experience in commissioning or testing and balancing of commercial HVAC systems will also be evaluated.
