Bachelorâs degree and 5 years of related experience
Masterâs Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field. Demonstrated ability to manage and lead engineering research projects. Experience in Transportation Engineering. Experience with asset management systems such as pavement management, sensing, and access management. Working knowledge of GIS software, relational database management software, and the Microsoft Windows operating environment. Strong knowledge of research approaches and techniques.
The Institute for Transportation (InTrans) is seeking to fill a Research Scientist III position.
InTrans is a hub of local, regional, and national transportation-focused research, education, workforce development, and technology transfer administering 15 centers and programs, and several other distinct research specialties, and a variety of technology transfer and professional education initiatives
Support research in traffic operations, safety, and asset management including conducting literature reviews, data analysis, modeling, and developing reports as well as interaction with funding agencies in forms of delivering presentations and progress updates.
Lead support research tasks related to data management and data analytics.
Lead and support the collection of field data and monitor and supervise students involved in the process including field demonstration activities in support of research projects.
Write journal articles, white papers, research reports and other publications.
Lead and support the development of proposals.
