The School of Business Office of Undergraduate Advising is seeking a full-time Student Experience Specialist and Academic Advisor (Student Services Program Administrator). The incumbent will report to the Executive Director for Undergraduate Programs and will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of student programs or service areas through the development, implementation, and coordination of student development programs in the School of Business Office of Undergraduate Advising (OUA). The position will be based at the Stamford campus but may require occasional in-state or out-of-state travel and evenings or weekends in support of program activities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include but are not limited to:
Assisting in the planning, development, design implementation, and evaluation of activities to ensure students are achieving the established learning outcomes and retention goals for the OUA with a special focus on the co-curricular learning environment at the Stamford campus.
Participating in the OUA work through contributing to the development, assessment, and reflection of processes and programs.
Advising current and prospective business students in personalized curriculum decisions.
Auditing student records to determine progress toward meeting academic requirements, probationary requirements, and eligibility to graduate.
Creating individualized plans and programs for experiences that support students in their educational needs, career goals, and professional development especially focused on students in special Stamford-focused co-curricular learning experiences.
Discussing students' status regarding academic warning, probation, or dismissal.
Referring students to other student success services such as Career Services and Counseling and Mental Health Services, as appropriate.
Providing development of and support for ongoing undergraduate activities which may include administrative work with student clubs, honors program, case competitions, mentorship programs, and experiential learning ventures.
Assisting in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating program activities to support the Business Connections Learning Community (BCLC) at Stamford including but not limited to professional development events and industry immersive experience.
Assisting in the creation and implementation of BCLC marketing plans; engaging in public relations and promotional activities for BCLC events. Coordinating the content development and distribution of ongoing communications to BCLC students and professional staff involved in the program.
Coordinating the development and implementation of BCLC-specific courses for freshmen and sophomore students and teaches in these programs, including First-Year Experience courses.
Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Five years of related work experience. One year of experience must be serving as an advanced team member.
Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Proven experience working successfully in both an independent and team environment.
Experience planning, coordinating, and executing events.
Experience working with student organizations.
Demonstrated experience working with college students in higher education institutions.
Demonstrated ability to multitask in a high traffic office.
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, and Access.
Dependable transportation and willingness and ability to travel in-state, out-of-state and internationally, and work occasional evenings and weekends.
Master's degree in counseling, higher education, or related field.
Demonstrated experience working with student organizations in higher education.
Demonstrated experience engaging with constituents in virtual environments.
Demonstrated experience working in a higher education environment in a university learning community setting.
Demonstrated experience in fostering professional relationships with undergraduate students.
Demonstrated experience working with students seeking admission to selective admission programs.
Prior experience working with software systems to generate and utilize data to inform decision-making.
Prior experience in teaching college students.
Previous supervisory experience of student staff.
