The Assistant Director for Leadership and Community Engagement provides leadership, coordination and support of student leadership learning opportunities through coordination of cohort programs for new and advanced leaders. This position provides knowledge and skill development workshops, teaches students (LEAD Team) how to present leadership workshops, teaches academic classes, acts as a leadership resource and manages the 49er Forum Speakers Series. This position also works with an area of service learning and supports the ASB program. Minimum Experience / Education:
Master's Degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs administration or related area is required. The successful candidate will have knowledge of current theories in leadership and leadership development; at least one year of professional experience (two years of graduate assistant work may be substituted); at least one year of experience in advising and program development, implementation and assessment: and demonstrated skills in facilitating training/presentations. The ability to be successful and engage in a diverse educational environment is required. Strong communication skills are a must.
