Responsible for providing safety and security services for the College by maintaining a safe, secure environment for students, staff, faculty and visitors.
Supervises and schedules part-time security staff.
Performs or oversees daily security inspections of campus and grounds.
Is responsible for implementing the college crisis management plan.
Secures and protects campus property and facilities.
Handles disruptions or disagreements between persons on campus, and requests assistance from local police as needed.
Responds and assumes the role of the main contact person for emergency and campus crisis situations, including but not limited to: fire, bomb threats, weather emergencies, natural disasters, etc.
Provides training to faculty, staff and students on subjects related to security emergency response, and holds periodic emergency drills as appropriate.
Acts as a liaison between the college and local law enforcement agencies.
Demonstrated experience with crisis/conflict management
Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience
Strong communication skills with the ability to assess and diffuse difficult situations
Associate's Degree (Criminal Justice or related field) and minimum of five years law enforcement/security work experience, or equivalent.
