The Sukenik lab at the University of California, Merced is looking for a Postdoctoral Scholar interested in working at the interface of molecular biophysics and genomics. The project will examine the interplay between the cellular environment and protein structure and function using cutting-edge technologies. The position is funded by a 5-year NIH grant.
The candidate will be responsible for the design, execution, and analysis of state-of-the-art high throughput experiments aimed at resolving how sequence and environment translate into function in disordered proteins.

An integral part of the job involves mentoring a diverse cohort of graduate students and coordinating research with both national and international collaborators.
PhD, MD (or foreign equivalent)

Deep mutational scanning studies
Next-gen sequencing and analysis

Additional Salary Information: Salary is based on the University of California Academic Salary Scales. This is a full-time, one-year appointment with the possibility of renewal based on availability of funding, ongoing operational needs and satisfactory performance.
