Virtual After Hours Program - TBD based on instructor availability
NSCC is seeking an instructor for our non-credit Central Sterile Processing program. For this opportunity, classes will be taught virtually after work hours and we will not need assistance with placements/clinicals. We are seeking an expert who can teach the virtual course content. Students will learn to clean and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment, and set up and deliver them to surgical areas, hospital rooms, clinics and even patients' homes. They will learn to assemble, adjust, and check non-sterile equipment and sterile supplies needed for surgery or other medical procedures. They will learn about microbes and germs and how they cause infections, as well as managing inventory, ordering supplies, inspecting, maintaining, delivering and retrieving equipment and instruments for surgery, emergency room and other patient care units.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Instruct students in course content
Coordinate with clinical site supervisors, patient assignment, and duties
Assess & grade students regarding course competencies
Adhere to DPH course requirements
Submit grades to Division
Salary commensurate with education and experience. This is a non-benefited position.

Experience working as a Central Sterile Technician
Preferred: Experienced Manager of Central Sterile Processing Dept.
Must be IAHCSMM-certified
Strong interpersonal skills.
Communication skills that demonstrate sensitivity to adult learners, non-native English speakers, and diversely prepared students. Bilingual skills a plus.
Experience with post-secondary learning programs.
Teaching or training experience preferred.
Candidates may be required to pass a CORI/SORI and/or a National background check as a condition of employment.
