Digital Strategy & Web Services group at Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC) seeks a Content Manager (Digital Writer/Producer) to join our team. Reporting to the Director, Content Strategy & Production, the Content Manager will be responsible for working with stakeholders across the institution to develop, optimize and improve performance and conversions of our content throughout the CUMC digital landscape. Our ideal candidate is an experienced content professional with demonstrable writing skills and experience in the science and/or medical field.

Work with stakeholders across the institution to conceptualize and scope content projects for marketing campaigns, website builds/migrations, and ongoing content and conversion optimization
Produce high quality, written content for an array of audiences and be able to adjust reading level and tone of content to meet the needs of our users.
Create and maintain longer-term marketing editorial calendars and roadmaps for content creation and production based on input from digital marketing team and institutional stakeholders
Work with the Search Engine Optimization Manager (SEO) to improve website content performance and inform content creation
Conduct regular content audits, competitor reviews, and gap analyses to identify areas of opportunity to inform content creation
Work with stakeholders to develop content strategy and information architecture that results in conversions
Work with web producer to assist with site builds and component layouts, publish content to websites as needed.
Collaborate with content and marketing team to plan and develop site content, style and layouts
Work with project manager, creative, and web development teams as well as external partners to develop and manage project plans, from scoping and scheduling to resourcing, implementation and production
Ensure compliance with copyright, ADA accessibility, HIPAA, PHI, and PII
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, English, writing, or equivalent in education and experience, plus a minimum of three years of related experience
3 or more years' relevant work experience in content related web and digital projects in a fast-paced environment
Strong understanding of style guides, including, Associated Press (AP) Stylebook and/or The Chicago Manual of Style
Experience with developing content for search engine optimization and conversions
Understanding of consumer/user journey, buying behavior, decision making and how these are influenced by content
Experience developing/adjusting content creation, reading level, etc., to meet the needs of the audience
Experience working with an enterprise CMS required, Drupal preferred
Basic technical knowledge of HTML and web publishing preferred
Proven analytical capabilities with attention to detail
Strong work ethic with a dedication to excellence
Solution oriented with the ability to anticipate needs for the team and organization

Knowledge of digital marketing and media production preferred
Experience with Google Analytics preferred
