Responsibilities This position is responsible for assessing the strategic, developmental and operational needs of UC Davis from an organizational development perspective and providing guidance through learning and development, organizational interventions and change management solutions. The incumbent will lead the development of a strategy to embed organizational change capability and a consistent change management methodology at UC Davis. This includes, but is not limited to facilitating assessments, designing strategic learning and development solutions, strategic planning, and culture-change and process-oriented approaches and projects, including all of the leadership development, and people-related aspects needed to enhance institutional and people performance. Consults with leaders, departments, and committees to address root causes of organizational effectiveness issues using a systematic approach and develops and delivers learning and organizational development solutions to address campus challenges. Analyzes current organizational purpose, structure, relationships, policies, systems, and data. Recommends and facilitates improvements ensuring alignment with organizational strategy.
A Bachelor's Degree in Organization Development, Human Resources, Business Administration, Management or related area.
Minimum ten (10) years of increasingly responsible and directly related experience, including three years senior management experience in an organization of significant size, diversity and complexity.
Demonstrated experience as a change management practitioner and trainer.
Practical experience in policy development and project and program management.
Demonstrated knowledge and ability to manage change and create innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues through the use of strategic thinking, taking into account long- term goals assessing options and implications.
Experience in developing, implementing and evaluating strategies to align services in a multidisciplinary organization so as to achieve the utmost efficiency and effectiveness.
Exceptional communication skills that demonstrate the ability to: translate complex matters; liaise with diverse audiences; collaborate with, coach and teach all levels of the organization
Graduate degree. Related human resources designation.
Experience in higher education and health care environments.
