The University of Kentucky International Center (UKIC) invites applications for a Director of Finance and Operations. The UKIC's Director of Finance and Operations will be responsible for providing leadership and oversight for the financial planning and fiscal operations of the UKIC, including operating budget, sponsored projects, gifts, and endowments. This position provides strategic advice to the Associate Provost for Internationalization regarding new business initiatives and financial sustainability. This role also provides HR and administrative oversight to ensure that UKIC is in compliance with various university, federal and state laws, regulations, policies and procedures. The Director of Finance and Operations is a member of the UKIC Leadership Team and is expected to participate in the collaborative leadership of the UKIC as a whole.
Other general responsibilities include: -Working collaboratively across multiple UKIC units to understand needs, priorities, and funding opportunities. -Responsible for working with UKIC units to develop unit specific budget and consolidate the UKIC annual operating budget; ensure budget is balanced and accountable -Utilizing data to inform decision making and allocation of resources. -Serving as the primary liaison with the Provost Budget Office during the annual budget cycle for planning matters and in the exchange of information regarding updates to the budget and programs based on tuition shares. -Monitor the financial standing of UKIC programs all year long and ensure revenue and expense are allocated to the correct accounts -Provide oversight of procurement activities whilst ensuring a consistent, positive, and responsive approach in all interactions. -Provide leadership and oversight on the utilization of physical resources including space, equipment, inventories with the goal of efficiency and effectiveness -Maintain and strengthen relationships at the university level that are critical to the success of the UKIC. -Serving on committees or task forces as appropriate related to the position. -Provide exceptional leadership and support staff and faculty in order to advance diversity, equity and inclusion.

-Master's in Accounting, Business, Public Administration, or a related field. -Significant experience in financial management and administration in a university or comparable setting. -Demonstrated ability to effectively manage the financial activities of a diverse array of programs. -Experience working with sponsored programs and university accounts. -Experience of supervision -Experience of providing guidance and instructions to staff
