Detailed Job Description The Department of Civil Engineering Technology, Environmental Management and Safety (CETEMS) http://www.rit.edu/cast/cetems in Rochester Institute of Technology's (RIT) College of Engineering Technology (CET) is seeking applications for a full-time Construction Management Program Director position. . This is a non-tenure-track Visiting Lecturer position renewable annually for up to three years, depending upon funding availability, performance and successful growth in program enrollment. The successful candidate will have the unique and exciting responsibility to work with the department chair to manage and expand an on-line MS degree program in construction management at RIT. Responsibilities include program promotion and recruitment, program development for Bachelor of Science in Construction Management, curriculum development and teaching, graduate students advising, workforce development through institution and private partnership, program coordination and budgeting, service to the department/college/university, maintaining a clear professional development and engagement agenda with professional organizations and businesses to support the growth of the program, and scholarship research.
Department/College Description The College of Engineering Technology (CET) is one of RIT's nine colleges enrolling 12 percent of the universitys students. CETEMS has 13 full-time faculties and more than 20 adjunct faculty. With over 350 students, the department continues to grow, offering two Bachelor of Science programs through its on-campus format, two Master of Science programs taught principally in an on-line format, and a BS/MS program. Each program uses project-based education to prepare students in their field of study and has a required co-operative industrial experience. Required Minimum Qualifications
MS or PhD required in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
Demonstrated relevant U.S. or Canadian industrial experience in construction, construction operations, or construction management.
Demonstrated U.S. or Canadian teaching experience at the higher education level in the construction management or a related field.
Demonstrated record of academic or outreach program leadership and administration
Ability to contribute in meaningful ways to the colleges continuing commitment to cultural and gender diversity, pluralism, and individual differences.
Ability to fully develop new course curriculum and teach graduate and undergraduate courses.
