Lecturer or Assistant Teaching Professor of Architecture
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
The Department of Architecture in the College of Design at Iowa State University (ISU) is seeking applicants for part-timeÂ non-tenure-eligible positions in the area of architecture education.
The department seeks candidates with experience in practice and an interest in teach in the Bachelor of Architecture program. We are seeking candidates capable of teaching in one or more of the following areas:
Design and/or Architecture Studio, Professional Practice lectures and seminar course; Building Technology labs in areas including structures, systems performance and materials and assemblies.
Fraction of work, and duration of contract will depend on course loads/needs.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
-Master of Architecture (MArch) or equivalent professional degree in related field
OR -Bachelor of Architecture (BArch) + 5 years professional practice experience
-Teaching experience -Professional architecture licenseÂ in the US or abroad

The Department of Architecture is home to over 400 students and approximately 36 faculty offering two accredited degrees, a Bachelor of Architecture and Master of Architecture, and a post-professional research degree: Master of Science in Architecture. The Department is housed within the College of Design alongside the Departments of Landscape Architecture, Community and Regional Planning, Interior Design, Industrial Design, Graphic Design, and Arts & Visual Culture, making it one of the most comprehensive design colleges in the country.
