The Associate Director of Operations will coordinate and oversee all student housing operations ensuring strong communication and coordination amongst all department operations related to university housing. The Associate Director of Operations will assist the Director in overseeing the daily operations of all of the undergraduate and graduate residence halls on the Beren and Wilf campuses.
Manage all aspects of housing application, the housing selection and occupancy process for all residential students through the Starrez Management system
Facilitate communication between university offices to establish efficient billing and data transfer using the Starrez systems
Assist the Housekeeping, Facilities, and Security departments to coordinate move in, move out and oversee the daily operations of the residence halls.
Maintain Housing websites
Supervise the housing office operations and manage contact with students, parents and other university departments
Assist in management and training of housing team including resident advisers and graduate assistants and student employees
Provide ongoing supervision of monthly residence hall floor / building programming and financial budgeting
Participate in ongoing students of concern meetings and follow up with students when necessary
Liaise with the Medical Office, the Dean's office, the Counseling Center and the Office of Disability Services on student issues
Participate in on call rotation after hours for medical, psychiatric, security and facilities emergencies
Oversee the Package Center (hire and supervise staff, manage daily issues)
Manage the hiring process for student employees
Other tasks as assigned
Experience & Education Background:
Three or more years of work experience in a related field (housing and residence life, higher education, etc)
Computer operations experience including the StarRez housing management system
Skills & Competencies:
Good communication skills
Creative, Patient and Organized
Good human relations/interpersonal skills
Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Word, Publisher, Excel, Starrez)
Must have flexible hours
