The Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics' Maternal and Child Health LEAP Program Coordinator will work closely with the Program Director and Deputy Director to implement the day-to-day activities of undergraduate and graduate student Maternal and Child Health training programs. In this role, the Program Coordinator will develop and implement student recruitment and retention strategies; coordinate and conduct student enrollment activities; assist and coordinate in curriculum-related activities; assist and coordinate administrative paperwork for the project; assist in project evaluation and reporting; schedule and participate in partnership meetings; and other tasks.
Job duty 1: Under the guidance of the Project Director and Deputy Director, the program coordinator will develop and implement various recruitment strategies, which include developing and maintaining all recruitment materials in various formats (paper, social media, video, web page etc.), participating in recruitment activities, and developing and implementing retention strategies. 20%
Job duty 2: Coordinate and conduct student enrollment activities. This includes disseminating application forms, organizing and summarizing application materials, organizing admission committee meetings, completing meeting minutes, notifying admission decisions, responding to inquiries.). 20%
Job duty 3: Assist and coordinate in curriculum-related activities. This includes, set up and track mentor-mentee meetings, track trainee's program hours and training progress, assist and coordinate monthly seminars and Spring summit, connect trainees with experiential learning opportunities, provide or refer academic support resources to trainees, serve as first point of contact for all inquiries. 20%
Job duty 4: Process financial administrative paperwork through university system; assist in program reporting to funding agency; participate in meetings with funding agencies; maintain account budget for assigned projects and periodically report to Project Director. 15%
Job duty 5: Assist in program evaluation and reporting: prepare program evaluation forms, remind trainees to complete the evaluation forms at enrollment, at exit, and after completing the training. This duty will be 10% in year 1 and will increase to 15% in future years. 15%
Job duty 6: Schedule and organize program meetings of project leaders and core faculty, advisory board, and meetings with external partners, write meeting minutes, and other duties as assigned. (10%)
