The Office of Student Financial Planning at Drake University is seeking a full-time Financial Aid Coordinator to begin on or after July 1, 2021. This position will report to the Assistant Director for New Student Programs, and is a key player in Drake's enrollment management efforts. Qualified applicants will have earned a bachelor's degree and have at least one year of experience in financial aid administration. Primary responsibilities of the position include providing excellent service to students and parents, packaging of financial aid eligibility for new or transfer undergraduate students and graduate students, and reviewing appeals for special circumstances. The ideal candidate will have experience in need analysis and packaging, a good understanding of Title IV regulations, strong interpersonal skills (including excellent written and verbal communication), and the ability to make sound decisions about complex situations. The position requires occasional nights and weekends with minimal travel.

Counsel students/parents, regarding financial aid programs and procedures with primary focus on service to new and prospective students.
Award new undergraduate, transfer, and all general graduate students and provide assistance with other student awarding as necessary to achieve awarding time lines.
Review appeals for special circumstances. This position is authorized to utilzie professional judgment on a case-by-case basis.
Provide assistance to Assistant Director- New Student Programs in calculating return of funds to Title IV programs for students who completely withdraw from the University.
Present to new students & parents during summer orientations and other first-semester programming.
Manage financial aid for study away students and liaison with Drake's Center for International Programs and Services.
