The Enrollment Communications Strategist (ECS) is the lead coordinator for all communications with prospective undergraduate and graduate students, their families, and influencers (faculty, secondary school counselors), promoting Wentworth locally, nationally and internationally. The ECS creates content and oversees marketing and communications outreach on behalf of the Enrollment division, which includes undergraduate and graduate admissions, financial aid, and pre-college programs. The person in this role will partner with colleagues in this division and with the Marketing and Communications department, acting as a liaison and project manager. Developing, creating, deploying, troubleshooting, analyzing and improving electronic and print communications are key to the success of the individual in this role. The role includes print and digital marketing strategy with intensive use of the CRM (Slate) as well as Drupal for the Web. The ECS will manage the division’s creative partnerships with marketing and communications vendors. Vendor management includes tracking results against projections, facilitating contract negotiations and budgetary transactions, as well as assessment of final outcomes to determine ROI. Admissions communications include print, e-mail, and digital/social media venues. As a member of the Admissions team, the ECS participates in internal and external events, meetings, and professional gatherings, contributes ideas and collaborates with both internal and external constituencies. A willingness to stay abreast of and recommend the application of new modes of communication is essential.
Bachelor’s degree and 4-5 years of experience focused on admissions communications and marketing in a higher education setting or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
Prior experience with a Customer Relationship Management tool (Slate strongly preferred), Drupal, Google Analytics, and Microsoft Office.
Familiarity with InDesign, Canva or other presentation design tools.
Experience managing and assessing advertising and promotional campaigns.
Track record of being a self-starter with demonstrated ability to take initiative, exercise good judgment and work autonomously.
Must have excellent public speaking, written, and verbal skills to support relationship building with prospective students and other constituents.
Skill and sensitivity to issues of diversity, equity and inclusion as they affect the college admissions process; a demonstrated commitment to building a strong and diverse applicant pool, and an awareness of how systemic economic and racial inequity in students’ secondary school backgrounds impacts their application to college.
A valid driver’s license and valid US Passport are required.
