The candidate will work on computational analysis of genome-level data sets, specifically refining and validating models of the regulation of barley immunity to the powdery mildew pathogen. This may include, for example, analysis of genome-wide RNA-Seq or proteomics (via mass-spectrometry) experiments, validation of transcription factor binding sites by CHiP seq, and functional interrogation via yeast-two-hybrid protein-protein interactions or virus-induced-gene-silencing.
Ph.D. in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology
Experience in the analysis of genome-level data sets, statistical analysis of RNA-Seq, protein-protein interaction networks, gene regulatory networks, and computational prediction of transcription factor targets.
Experience in outreach to young scientists of underrepresented minorities
Experience in plant biology, gene cloning, and protein-protein interactions.
