Job Summary: The IT Technical Specialist III performs advanced professional IT activities for a specialized, complex assignment or functional area requiring application of an advanced professional knowledge of IT principles, practices, and procedures. Requires evaluation, originality or ingenuity. May supervise and/or direct the work of project teams or other lower level staff.
Additional Department Summary: This position provides system and application administration responsibilities for multiple systems to provide desktop deployment to the campus community.
Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree ; OR Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of IT experience; OR Associate’s degree and four (4) years of IT experience; OR High School Diploma or GED and six (6) years of IT experience. Must have Jamf or similar macOS and iOS mobile device management system experience. Experience with Apple Enterprise deployment programs (Apple School Manager or Business Manager). Proven macOS scripting (bash, zsh, etc.) experience. macOS and iOS software and operating system support and troubleshooting experience. Software packaging and deployment experience using mobile device management tools. SCCM experience.
Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 21 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report as determined by the insurance carrier.
Skills and Knowledge: Knowledge of Apple MDM protocols (configuration profiles, policy management). Working knowledge of Operating System and software deployment in a large environment.
Preferred Qualifications: At least two years of verifiable experience using MDM tools in a large environment, most notably Jamf. Working knowledge of some of the following applications; MECM, SCCM, Intune, Jamf, PDQ, software packaging/scripting.
