The Office of Transitions & Community Living at Keene State College invites applications for Community Director positions. These full-time, 12-month live-in, benefited positions provide oversight of one or more residence halls, while facilitating a well-rounded Community Living educational curriculum, and ensuring the safety and well-being of all residents. This includes participating in the selection, training, and supervision of student staff (consisting of Community Assistants and Head Community Assistants) and establishing the groundwork for the departmental community development and programming model. Keene State College provides a vibrant on campus living opportunity with residential areas consisting of traditional residence halls, suites, and apartment complexes. The Community Directors, reporting to the Assistant Director of Community Living, create meaningful opportunities for student growth and learning through programming, advising, participating in the on-call rotation, serving as conduct hearing officers, being active members of divisional and College committees, and are integral components of Keene State Collegeâs focus on advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion. There is a renewed focus on building strong communities for our residential students. Community Directors now serve as team leads for our Community CARES initiative and serve as First Year Seminar Facilitators. This focus is intentional, student centered, and dynamic in meeting the ever-changing needs of our students. A Bachelorâs degree; 1 year of recent and relevant post-bachelor's professional live-in residence hall leadership experience; staff supervision skills; experience creating, developing, and assessing educational and social programming for students; knowledge of residence hall facility administration; a demonstrated ability to interact with a wide variety of constituencies including students, families, faculty, and staff; proficiency with Microsoft Office and current social media platforms; proven written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; and the ability to work a variable schedule including evenings, holidays, weekends and campus closures.
