Minnesota State College Southeast seeks an energetic and dedicated individual for a full-time Mechatronics Technology Instructor for the Red Wing, MN Campus. This position required a skilled individual with experience in areas such as basic electronics, programmable logic controllers, hydraulics/pneumatics, sensors, system interfacing, and motors. The successful candidate should be willing to coordinate with industry partners, high school technical education instructors, and community stakeholders to facilitate an integrated learning environment across southeast Minnesota. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Teach core mechatronics courses, including basic electronics, programmable logic controllers, hydraulics/pneumatics, sensors, system interfacing, and motors as well as a range of subjects across the program and the program curricula
Provide instruction and advising to students in day, evening, and alternate schedule formats utilizing traditional and alternative delivery methods and virtual learning environments
Design, develop and maintain current curriculum to meet local, regional, state, and national industry standards
Contribute to department, division, and college goals, which provide the basis for program planning, implementation, evaluation and support
Work as a team member in maintaining a learning environment that effectively and efficiently meets the educational requirements of the diverse postsecondary student.
Build and maintain professional and community business relationships
Recruit program students and assist with retention and job placement efforts.
Engage is scholarly activities consistent with the college's goals Course assignments may include day, evening, and weekend hours; and off-site locations.
Education Requirement - ●Associate degree from an automated systems and mechatronics, electrical/mechanical systems or fluid power program.
Occupational Experience Requirement - ●Four full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience in automated systems and mechatronics, electrical/mechanical, or fluid power.
Recency Requirement ●One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years. Teaching and Learning Competency Requirement ●course construction (credit course)* ●teaching/instructional methods (credit course)* ●student outcomes assessment/evaluation (credit course)* ●philosophy of community and technical college education (credit or non-credit course)** ●Faculty shall have a degree in education or three years of successful full-time (or equivalent) teaching experience prior to being hired, or shall be required to complete coursework in the above content areas (or their equivalent) prior to being granted unlimited status.
These courses shall be waived for individuals who at the time of hire have: a degree in education, or have documented evidence of successful completion of equivalent coursework in the specified teaching and learning content areas, or have three years of successful, full-time (or equivalent) secondary, postsecondary, industry, or trade apprenticeship teaching experience in the field for which they are being hired. Background in electro-mechanical integration, advanced programmable logic controllers, sensors, and/or instrumentation and a current robotics certification
Knowledge of industrial processes, automation, and/or robotics, and experience with IOT (Internet of Things), complimentary mechanical knowledge spanning hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical power transfer
Bachelor's degree in a closely related field
