Posting Summary: Analyzes monthly Banner accounting reports and prepares journal vouchers to ensure accuracy, budgetary compliance and adherence to agency guidelines for assigned restricted grants and contracts. Prepares and submits financial reports and request reimbursements to funding agencies. Assists in fiscal year-end closing and annual preparation of financial statements. Consults and assists project directors with fiscal planning and provides current information concerning budgetary issues, rules and regulations governing the particular grant/contract, allowability of expenditures, indirect cost rates, etc. Acts as a liaison between funding agencies and project directors, providing technical financial support. Reviews expenditure-related documents (e.g. personnel forms, requisitions, etc.) for funding availability and compliance. Conducts financial research and interprets and advises project directors regarding agency guidelines, federal regulations, OMB circulars and University policies and procedures. Trains appropriate personnel on how to read and interpret monthly accounting reports, online screens and provides advice on grant management procedures. Responsible for the coordination and preliminary review of the financial-related work performed by grant-funded fiscal positions. Performs other related duties and responsibilities as required.
