LICENSED INDEPENDENT CLINICAL SOCIAL WORKER (LICSW), EMBEDDED PRIMARY CARE BEHAVIORAL HEALTH , MIT Medical , to provide direct clinical services to faculty and employees as a member of the Embedded Primary Care Behavioral Health team. Team members perform acute triage care. Responsibilities will include responding to behavioral health triage calls and reviewing online triage forms; responding to urgent phone calls from deans, faculty, and staff regarding patients of MIT Medical's primary care practice; providing walk-in consultations and participating in warm handoffs from primary care clinicians for patients who need behavioral health consultations; providing short-term care for patients requiring stabilization; assisting with patient hopitalizations; and providing follow up to after-hours call for patients with behavioral health concerns.
Job Requirements REQUIRED : master's degree in social work from an institution accredited by the Council on Social Work Education; at least two years of post master's degree social work experience; Massachusetts licensure at the LICSW level; strong background in supportive therapy treatments; knowledge of casework process and community resources related to mental health and disability; knowledge of current social work theory and practice, ability to apply treatment and case management methods, and familiarity with community issues and resources; understanding of organizational theory and practice in large systems and knowledge of social and health care policies/systems; excellent diagnostic, treatment, interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills; ability to assess patient needs, develop associated treatment modalities, and provide effective counseling; and proficiency with general office, spreadsheet, database, and presentation programs (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint). PREFERRED : expertise and interest in working with an ethnoculturally diverse population; and ability to work effectively as a team member, engaging with a multispecialty medical service and the university community.
