PSYCHIATRIC NURSE PRACTITIONER, PRIMARY CARE , MIT Medical , to provide mental health care to faculty, employees, and covered members of their families in the outpatient setting. The patient's mental health status and psychiatric treatment needs are assessed and an appropriate plan of care is developed and implemented. Will provide direct clinical services such as diagnostic assessments, crisis intervention, psychopharmacology, and referrals to off-campus agencies and professionals; provide care management; conduct behavioral health care management trainings for professional staff; consult with MIT Medical colleagues, faculty, and staff on outreach and involvement in campus activities that help integrate into the university community.
Job Requirements REQUIRED : graduation from an accredited family nurse practitioner program; current licensure and certification to practice as a psychiatric clinical nurse in Massachusetts; current provider card in basic life support (BLS); master's degree in nursing; and valid prescriptive authority from MA and federal DEA. Must be able to summarize and communicate, in English, moderately complex information in varied written formats to staff, patients, families, and customers; demonstrate in-depth knowledge of concepts, practices, and policies and use them in complex and varied situations; collaborate with PAs, medical assistants, physicians, and administrative staff to ensure the patients receive optimal clinical care; and provide a high level of customer service and staff training to meet customer service standards and expectations.
