Assistant Director, Admissions - School of Arts and Sciences - (21001420)
The Office of Undergraduate Admissions recruits potential applicants and selects students for the School of Arts & Sciences, School of Engineering, and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University. The Admissions team embraces the mission of the university and the goals of the undergraduate admissions office which include attracting and enrolling a diverse cohort of first year and transfer students via a robust recruitment and enrollment initiatives plan that has equity and inclusion as its guiding principle.
Reporting to the Director of Recruitment and Strategy, the Assistant Director will collaborate with the Slate team, Student Services Technology Team and portfolio managers on event communications, special projects, queries for programs and other technical and data related services; build, test, and maintain forms, event templates, fundamental data elements, and system/feature updates throughout the year and during annual cycle prep; provide guidance, support and training to Admissions staff related to record management, data retention and other Slate functionality; will act as point person for completion of all admissions-based surveys, and accuracy of U.S. News submissions; will ensure the integrity and accuracy of all data related to student admissions and enrollment. Participating in Committee Based Evaluation, the Assistant Director reads and evaluates applications as part of a team and participate in the selection process. Additionally, they will participate in recruitment events both on and off campus as well as virtually and manage an assigned geographic territory. Attention to detail and a dedication to a collaborative work environment are necessary.
Knowledge and experience typically acquired by:
Bachelor's Degree and 2-3 years of experience in admissions, college counseling or related field.
Proficiency with CRM data management software and Microsoft Office suite.
Public speaking and presentation skills.
Valid US Driver's license.
Experience with Slate.
Experience with committee-based evaluation or team-based reading.
