The Doerr Institute for New Leaders invites applications for a postdoctoral research fellow position. The research fellow will be part of a creative team that designs, plans, executes, and evaluates leader development programming university-wide, although the focus of the position will be on outcome measurement. The research fellow will be expected to spend the majority of his/her time working directly on measurement-related projects, with additional time spent assisting with related Institute objectives. This position requires advanced skill and knowledge in designing outcome measures and analyzing results; expertise in leadership studies is not required. Candidates welcomed from both academia and industry (e.g., talent management). This position may involve the opportunity to supervise and mentor students, as well as the possibility of collaboration with other scholars at the university. Applicants must have a record of publication in academic, social science journals or compelling practitioner experience to be considered for this position. The full-time position is for 12 months with strong possibility of renewal for one additional year.
Education Required: Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate Major/Discipline: Social science field Education Preferred: Industrial/organization psychology, social psychology, personality psychology, behavioral economics, or related fields Experience Required: No experience required Experience Preferred: - Experience reading, evaluating, and applying research on leadership and leader development is preferred - Experience performing research using large-scale databases is encouraged, but not required Skills Required - Advanced skill and knowledge in designing outcome measures and analyzing results - Ability to design and evaluate studies to test interventions with human subjects - Ability to analyze data using SPSS, SAS, or R - Ability to design surveys using Qualtrics - Ability to work both independently (with minimal supervision and direction) and on a team - Strong research analysis skills are required for this position, as are strong written and oral communication skills Skills Preferred: Teaching and/or training experience is desirable, but not required Physical Demands: Requires working in front of a computer for extended periods of time (up to eight hours per day).
