Queensborough Community College is accepting applications for the position of Head Womenâ€™s Basketball Coach in the Department of Health, Physical Education and Dance to start in Fall 2021.

Reporting to the Director of Athletics, the Head Womenâ€™s Basketball Coach will teach credit bearing courses to student athletes in sports fundamentals, individual player development, sportsmanship, and leadership. The Head Basketball Coach will be responsible for coaching and administering all aspects of a competitive NJCAA Division III Womenâ€™s Basketball program.
Additional duties include, but are not limited to:
Manage all aspects of the team, including coaching, recruiting, training and scheduling
Responsible for adhering to all rules and regulations set forth for the team, and the College
Maintain compliance with NJCAA rules with the utmost integrity
Coordinate travel arrangements
Organize and maintain accurate inventory of basketball equipment and uniforms
Work cooperatively with personnel in the athletics department, attend department meetings and activities
Represent the College positively when interacting with the community, alumni, high schools and club coaches, media and general public
Attend seminars, conferences and other professional development opportunities
Coordinate facility needs of visiting teams
Complete other administrative duties as assigned
Must be willing to travel in accordance with program activities.
Bachelor's degree in area(s) of expertise.
Prior teaching experience in an undergraduate academic setting, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.
-A valid driverâ€™s license, with a clean driving record, strongly preferred
-Previous collegiate playing and/or coaching experience preferred
-Ability to recruit, coach and teach student athletes
-Ability to adhere to all policies, rules and regulations of the College, University, and NJCAA rules
-Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment as needed
-Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the public
-Ability to communicate effectively orally, by phone, in person, and in writing
-Ability to represent the department and the College in a friendly, courteous and professional
-Ability to respond to emergency situations in a timely manner
