Southwest Virginia Community College seeks an EMS Faculty member. In cooperation with the Program Director and Medical Director, this position will coordinate, teach, and facilitate student learning in cognitive, psychomotor and affective domains. Responsibilities: *Assisting the program and medical director with curriculum development. *Coordinating, managing, and teaching Advanced EMT and Paramedic in-person learning activities. *Scheduling part-time instructors to ensure adequate coverage for all advanced EMT and paramedic class and lab sessions. *Ensuring that all grade reporting, lab performance documentation and formal communication is completed. *Coordinating and managing the independent-study EMT program. *Performing other duties as assigned to ensure college and program accreditation standards are met.
*A minimum of an Associate degree *Current certification or licensure as a paramedic *Experience in emergency medicine/pre-hospital care *Knowledge of instructional methods and teaching experience to deliver content, skills instruction, and remediation *Demonstrated ability to teach students from a wide spectrum of ages and from diverse cultural and social backgrounds
