Entrepreneur in Residence - Tufts Entrepreneurship Center, School of Engineering - (21001406)
This is a benefits-eligible part-time position, working up to 20 hours per week.

The Tufts Entrepreneurship Center (TEC) is part of the Gordon Institute and focuses on helping students, alumni, faculty, researchers and other members of the broader Tufts community embrace an entrepreneurial mindset and skillset, helping them succeed wherever their careers take them - in a startup, in a large corporation, in a non-profit, in a government agency and more.
TEC offers academic courses and co-curricular activities, including educational workshops, speaker events, meetups and hackathons, venture competitions, entrepreneurial achievement prizes and a summer venture accelerator.
The EIR is a part-time role to be filled by a practicing entrepreneur. This role reports to the Director of Tufts Entrepreneurship Center. This position is expected to require no more than 20 hours a week. The Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EIR) program is a pilot program where we bring in practicing innovators and entrepreneurs with subject matter expertise in new venture creation to coach, mentor and create innovative co-curricular programming for students, presenting them with a practical perspective that is deeply in tune with the EIR's own work outside an academic context. EIRs helps educate, mentor and coach Tufts students across campus on the realities of being an innovator and entrepreneur in any setting - startup, corporate, non-profit, government and more.
Bachelor's degree in related discipline and 3+ years of related experience OR Master's degree and 1-2 years related experience.
At least 5 years' industry experience in an entrepreneurial setting (can be startup, corporate, non profit or government)
Excellent command of written and spoken English
Excellent cross-cultural communication, networking, and negotiation skills
Willingness to bridge-build across campus to ensure students are taking full advantage of the resources available to them and identifying and filling in gaps where needed
Very comfortable with the use of technology-based tools and platforms (e.g. Wordpress, Calendly & other calendar management tools, Zoom, Zendesk, Eventbrite, Slack, etc)
Very comfortable with using social media platforms to drive awareness and engagement
Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, and work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
An appreciation for and ability to work with a diverse population of students, staff, faculty, and community members.
Experience as a founder or early employee of a startup and willingness to openly share successes and failures with students is a big plus
Special Work Schedule Requirements: This is a part time role designed for practicing innovators and entrepreneurs and is expected to require no more than 20 hours per week on average, although workload can be quite variable around major events and deadlines at TEC.
