Description of Work:
Conflict of Interest Compliance Specialist: Performs functions related to the oversight, guidance and direction of the UNL Conflict of Interest Program, processes, and policies. The primary focus of this position is applying policies and regulations to provide expert advice and training to university administrators and employees on matters relating to COI in research and preventing non-compliance with organizational policies and procedures relating to COI in research. Other duties as assigned.
In addition to the above responsibilities, the Conflict of Interest Coordinator I is responsible for other duties as assigned specific to training, creation of management plans and leading the Conflict of Interest in Research Committee (CIRC).

Minimum Required Qualifications:
Conflict of Interest Compliance Specialist: Bachelor's degree plus one year of experience in a research university and/or complex multi-tasking environment required; equivalent education/experience considered. Demonstrated ability to understand, interpret, apply and communicate information specific to COI project review and the ability to apply supervised analysis in the completion of functional processes necessary. Progression for work to develop knowledge of activities outside functional areas essential.
Conflict of Interest Coordinator I: Bachelor's degree plus 2-4 years of experience in a research university and/or complex multi-tasking environment required; equivalent education/experience considered. Requires the ability to understand, interpret, apply and communicate information specific to COI project review and the ability to apply analysis in the completion of functional processes. Must possess knowledge of work activities outside functional areas.
Conflict of Interest Compliance Specialist: Bachelor's degree in a STEM field preferred. CITI Trained desirable. Prefer completion of Certified Research Administrator (CRA) within 2-3 years of hire.
Conflict of Interest Coordinator I: Bachelor's degree in a STEM field preferred. CITI Trained desirable. Prefer CRA certification.
