Active member of both the SEVIS Compliance and Student Advising teams within International Student and Scholar Services (ISS). Position responsible for applying federal regulatory parameters to determine whether non-immigrant student and exchange faculty members are compliant with Department of Homeland Security (DHS) regulations, as part of the mandatory SEVIS reporting responsibilities of the University. ISS must meet continuous non-negotiable Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) reporting deadlines; as such, the position is responsible for creating and maintaining communication systems for alerts to international students and scholars regarding visa status, performing complicated data reconciliation and analysis to ensure institutional compliance and coordinating institutional reporting through SEVIS. The SEVIS Coordinator assists with student advising and works as part of a team to provide high-quality support services to international students.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Technical knowledge and aptitude in database management, programs, tools, and technology preferred as well as experience running data processing systems.
Close attention to detail, good cross-cultural communication skills, and strong computing skills.
Excellent organizational and time management skills and experience determining priorities effectively while adhering to deadlines are necessary.
Directly supports the university's ability to retain permission to admit and enroll international students resulting in annual revenue of over $45 million tuition dollars.
