Faculty position to teach on the Spartanburg and/or Greenville campus.
The Mary Black School of Nursing seeks a tenure-track Associate Professor of Nursing and Director of Nursing Research beginning August 16, 2021. The Director of Nursing Research will split their time evenly between administrative and teaching functions, and will report directly to the Dean of the School of Nursing. The Director will provide support and guidance for all faculty regarding scholarship and research activities within the School. Duties and responsibilities include:
Providing leadership for research;
Mentoring faculty in writing and submitting for publication and grant funding;
Providing support to faculty, including pre- and post- grant award support and regulatory oversight;
Assuring the ethical, regulatory, and scientific integrity of research conduction in the School;
Maintaining scholarly productivity and seeking grant funding in order to serve as a role model;
Guiding tenure-track faculty in progression towards tenure (i.e. portfolio development, scholarly activities, etc.), and assisting in the development of self-evaluations for annual review in regards to research and scholarly productivity;
Contributing to the strategic planning of the School;
Gathering and reporting individual faculty and aggregate outcomes for scholarship to ensure compliance with internal and external regulatory and accrediting bodies;
Serving on university committees The ideal candidate will be innovative and flexible, organized and detail-oriented, as well as possessing excellent written and oral communication skills and experience working in diverse environments.

USC Upstate is seeking teacher-scholars who (i) have a commitment to excellence in teaching and working with a diverse student population and (ii) show clear potential for scholarly research and publication. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in student and civic engagement and active learning pedagogies, (e.g. service-learning, mentoring undergraduate research, and the scholarship of teaching, learning and application). Experience with teaching online or hybrid courses is a plus. The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) programs at the Mary Black School of Nursing are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). The BSN is offered for pre-licensure students in addition to RNs seeking their BSN in the RN-BSN track. The RN-BSN track is offered online and face-to-face and the MSN is offered with an emphasis on the Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL), Nursing Education and Nursing Leadership. The MBSON was also recently approved to offer 3 post Master's Graduate Certificate programs with emphases in Clinical Nursing Leader, Nursing Education and Nursing Leadership starting in spring 2022. The Mary Black School of Nursing has state-of-the-art simulation centers on both campuses. Advertised Minimum Qualifications :
A research doctoral degree in Nursing or related field is required. Candidates should meet disciplinary requirements for research and scholarship at the rank of Associate Professor or higher with evidence of a consistently high level of scholarly productivity and sustained program of research.
