The General Accounting and Asset Management Functional Business Analyst provides support for all fiscal year end activities, including the closing of assets and financials system, daily generation of fiscal year end statements, nightly fiscal closings, and ongoing system validations. This is a key position in the Comptroller's Office not only through the fiscal year close, but for monthly closings, system report development, ad-hoc reporting for the Comptroller leadership, and maintenance of the ledger system. The Functional Business Analyst will work with members of the Comptroller's Office and Information Technology Services (ITS) to support, analyze, design, and implement the financial applications and systems. This position serves as the primary liaison between departmental users and ITS, and although this is not considered a technical role, data analysis and report writing experience is an essential part of this position. The Functional Business Analyst identifies organizational strengths and weaknesses and offers strategic solutions and initiatives by staying current with emerging industry best practices. In this role the candidate will work to ensure that projects align with the University and Comptroller's Office strategic goals.
