Loyola University Maryland has an exciting opening for Director Title IX, Compliance & Assessment. This position reports to the Vice President & Special Assistant to the President and Interim VP of Student Development.
As the Title IX Coordinator for the University, they will oversee prevention, education, and trauma informed response programs related to sexual misconduct, gender violence, sexual assault and related policies. Oversee the University's compliance with the Title IX of the Higher Education Act of 1964 as amended in 1972, and compliance with Section 504/ADA and related grievance processes. Foster a safe and supportive environment conducive to a successful educational environment. Generate and/or review student development, external affairs compliance and program reports; ensure programs are consistent with state, local, and federal laws related to requirements for higher education. Develop and implement assessment tools and metrics; and monitor programs to assess and promote continuous improvement of the student experience and institutional effectiveness at Loyola.
Essential job duties include: As University Title IX Coordinator, and University ADA 504 Coordinator, provide leadership, vision, strategic planning, implementation, and oversight of Title IX, ADA 504, and related programs; including the development, execution, communication, and assessment of plans and policies. Collaborate with student development, human resources, academic affairs, athletics, diversity, equity and inclusion, and legal counsel to ensure the University's prevention, compliance, educational, and outreach efforts with regard to Title IX, ADA 504, and related policies.
Ensure NCAA Title IX compliance. Support the University in areas such as admission, financial aid, student affairs, athletics, housing, facilities, and academics programs as it relates to gender equity. Ensure updates to Title IX website and brochures.Provide leadership to the Assistant Director Title IX, Compliance, and Assessment/Title IX Deputy Coordinator for Students. Appoint, lead, train, develop, evaluate and monitor staff to accomplish goals and objectives. Develop, generate, review, and monitor budgets, programs, and services. Generate, maintain, and monitor all reports and records required by University policies and state, local, and regulatory agencies as it relates to Title IX and ADA 504.
The Director will coordinate investigations and provide administrative support for investigations.Select cross-functional Title IX deputy coordinators and intake officers as needed and provide training and support. Ensure hearing officers, advisors, advocates, investigators, and all roles related to the Title IX processes are assigned and trained. Establish a strong partnership with the Office of Student Conduct and the Women's Center among others. Provide prompt and equitable resolution of complaints by assisting individuals who wish to file complaints or who are guiding others through the process.
Conduct periodic review of all University Title IX programs, ADA 504 programs, and action steps; assist with solutions and monitor improvement actions as needed. Responsible for memorandum of understandings (MOU), vendor selection and vendor management of contract relationships related to Title IX; such as hospitals, local police, investigators, training contracts and content, and/or other consultants as needed. Collaborate with campus public safety as needed to refer appropriate cases to student conduct for adjudication. Collaborate with the Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC) to ensure understanding of upcoming legislature related to Title IX and VAWA. Advocate appropriately on behalf of Loyola at the state and federal level on legislation affecting Title IX and VAWA.
Oversee training, development, events and programming for students, faculty, staff, and administrators regarding education and prevention of all forms of sexual misconduct and violence. Develops programs for student leaders that build a peer educator model for sexual assault awareness and prevention. The Title IX Director has oversight of the Title IX Intake Officers (their recruitment, selection, training, and supervision. Serve as advisor to the student life conduct system. Assist with training the staff, inquiries regarding administrative hearing boards and the University Board on Discipline.
Master's degree and more than 8 years of related experience required.
