The Center for Executive Education (CEE), at the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School, invites applications from candidates for a non-tenure track, intermittent position as a Facilitator to work with Navy teams developing strategic initiatives. BA or BS degree required; MA or MS degree preferred. Experience is required in related areas such as Navy Leadership, Strategic Leadership, Organizational Development, Management, or Psychology, with focused work consulting and coaching senior leadership teams. The level of faculty appointment and compensation will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
CEEs approach to strategic planning is based on an effects-based framework that supports measurable results and guides senior leaders who must develop strategically aligned organizational priorities, policies, procedures, and practices to optimize performance for a diverse workforce. Consulting and coaching activities must be evidence-based.
NPS is a fully accredited graduate school with students from both the U.S Navy and other services. Salary is highly competitive and locality allowances are based on candidate’s place of residence. Monterey is a short drive south from the San Francisco Bay area and is ideally situated along the spectacular central California coast. The Center for Executive Education (CEE) designs and delivers both standing and customized executive education programs that address the strategic needs of Navy and joint organizations. The Center offers these programs at their facilities at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California or at off-site locations near major Navy concentration areas. During COVID, all courses have been offered virtually. All programs are designed to enable Navy leaders to manage and lead more effectively by engaging participants in case studies, team exercises, practical applications, and focused lectures.
Experience is required in related areas such as Navy leadership, Strategic Leadership, Organizational Development, Management, or Psychology, with focused work consulting and coaching senior leadership teams.
Previous executive education experience related to strategic leadership
Demonstrated facilitation capabilities working with senior executives
Related managerial or consulting experience in public sector or private sector organizations including experience.
Strong interpersonal skills and proven experiences working with senior executives are also required.
Other essentials skills include: 1) Executive-level written and verbal communication skills; 2) Adaptability, flexibility and innovation skills; 3) Critical thinking and problem-solving skills; 4) Experience in facilitating seminar discussions; and, 5) Demonstrated experience working within an executive-level office environment.
Although US Citizenship is not a requirement, it is considered in the hiring process
Must be able to complete and successfully pass a security background investigation
