The Epic Support Specialist I shall be responsible for:
Formally training in one of the department's core Epic applications through Epic's proprietary certification program. Performs requisite project work and exam preparation leading to certification. Engages in internal department training as necessary to understand unique requirements of the business and related Epic configurations.
Obtaining certification and performing builds for basic changes (e.g., update to an existing pick list, PB basic charge review edits, remit code grouper assignment, adding a CPT to the modality list, updating components, etc.). Performing initial unit testing for own work with additional quality review by a senior team member. May assist in the testing/quality assurance of other team members' more routine solutions.
Responding to and triaging support tickets. Troubleshooting and resolving routine maintenance issues - basic "break/fix" requests related to the specific Epic application supported and any associated peripheral devices.
Performing routine administrative workflow or data entry steps (i.e., non-billable provider entry, e-prescribe number generation, etc.) that are integral to a more complex process. Assisting in testing routine upgrades.
Participating in recurring team meetings to learn from current projects and discuss the status of deliverables/assignments, roadblocks, shared issues, end-user concerns, etc. Participating in regular routine communications with Epic representatives, including participating in recurring project team meetings to review outstanding support, request assistance, etc.
Assisting end users on basic navigation and use of the supported application.
To qualify you must have:
Bachelor's Degree, preferred but not required
Any combination of experience (work, internships, etc.), training and academic coursework that demonstrates facility or orientation with use of an administrative or operationally based application/software; Customer service; and/or Attention to detail and accuracy while working regularly with data.
Ability to obtain Epic Resolute Professional Billing Certification within one year of entry into the role
