Prepares samples and conducts Virology and serology testing. Determines, prepares, and analyzes, results for Serology, Virology and Rabies testing. Ensures compliance with federal programs. Responsible for reviewing results in Vetview LIS. Prepare reports for veterinarians and pathologists. Chart and monitor the lab's quality control systems. Is compliant with all requirements for AAVLD, NPIP, NDDHS, VSPS, Center for Disease Control (CDC), USDA and Nebraska Department of Agriculture including passing proficiency testing and maintaining accreditation and other requirements to run regulatory testing. Is responsible for ongoing quality assurance and quality control of assays and continual improvement upon documents and procedures. Minimum Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in biological science, animal science, medical technology, or related field plus one year of virology lab experience (which can include research, internship, or clinical rotations as a student); equivalent education/experience considered. Familiarity with molecular diagnostics testing. Familiarity with elementary virology such as sterile techniques, cell culture techniques, and serological techniques. Data collection, analysis, and report writing skills. Knowledge of quality control procedures.
Experience performing rabies, virology, or serology testing. Knowledge of veterinary virus pathogens.
