Reporting to the Director of Research Training, the full-time biostatistician will provide moderately complex statistical consulting to the faculty, staff and students at the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine, including but not limited to study design, sample size calculations, analyses and dissemination. This individual will also be responsible for providing education on statistical techniques and will also be responsible for data auditing/quality assurance and management for all student Capstone projects.
Master's degree in Applied Statistics with minimum of 2 years experience in applied biostatistics, preferably in a medical/medical education environment, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with others.
Experience in statistical consulting including relevant software use (SAS, R, SPSS).
Must have working knowledge of moderately complex statistical methods, i.e., experimental design, power analysis, categorical data analysis, ANOVA, ANCOVA, repeated measures analysis, mixed models, survival analysis and non-parametric methods.
Strong Word, Excel, and Power Point experience required.
Teaching experience and excellent inter-personal communication skills also required.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize heavy workload and function autonomously.
PhD in Statistics/Biostatistics with minimum of 5 years experience in applied biostatistics, preferably in a medical/medical education environment.
