Job Summary/Essential Job Functions: Under the direction of the Principal Investigator (PI) this position will conduct laboratory research activities which will include conducting experiments using standard as well as advanced microbiology and molecular biology methodologies
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Designs, conducts, and optimizes experiments.
Performs including DNA and protein isolation techniques and cell culture procedures.
Performs periodic lab checks on laboratory research animals.
Researches, proposes, and plans subsequent research experiments for approval.
Perform related research activities both independently and in collaboration with other members in the research team.
Provides scientific expertise and inputs on planning of experiments related to the assigned research projects.
Analyzes and presents research data at scientific meetings and conferences.
Prepares reports, manuscripts and presentations for publication in scientific journals/conferences.
Train's students and other research staff.
Maintains inventory for laboratory supplies, equipment, and organizes laboratory space.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
