Dept Marketing Statement Under the general direction of the Director of Audit and Management Services (AMAS), the incumbent conducts audit research, analysis, reviews and specialized Information Technology (IT) services in support of the campus Internal Audit program. This position supports the campus AMAS Director, the staff, campus operating management and senior leadership, the UCSC audit committee, and the UC system-wide Ethics, Compliance and Audit Services office.
The Senior Audit Analyst annually creates and administers the internal audit project management system and serves as a local champion administering UC system-wide enterprise audit software; conducts complex analysis of data and performs reviews of selected IT topics; responds to information requests from UC system-wide in support of the Director; serves as a liaison with campus and UCOP on audit matters and management corrective action follow-up; and provides desktop and laptop workstation, and web support within the AMAS office.
Audit & Management Advisory Services (AMAS) is an independent and objective internal audit function reporting to the Regents, President, and Chancellor with information and assurance on the governance, risk management and internal control processes. AMAS focus is to provide actionable insights to the strategic value and risk drivers of the campus, align assurance coverage against strategic imperatives and extended enterprise risk, optimize assurance coverage by mapping and integrating assurance coverage on a risk-adjusted basis, leverage technology to incorporate both external and internal data and facilitate data driven decisions that optimized both performance and risk mitigation.

Job Duties 35%: Administers elements of the internal audit quality assurance program and advises the audit director and staff of areas requiring attention. Collects, analyzes, and reports out on project activity for use by audit director, staff, audit committee, and the Office of the President, Analyzes staffing resource allocation scenarios and prepares audit planning schedules for audit director review, approval, and submission to the Office of the President. Maintains internal audit management corrective action follow-up system and provides periodic and ad-hoc reporting on management corrective action (MCA) status for audit director, auditors, audit committee, and UC system wide. Creates, monitors and updates department activity maintained in the electronic audit project management system, Maintains audit administration and reporting templates.
30%: Maintains TeamMate modules, such as TeamRisk (risk assessment), TeamSchedule (audit scheduling), TeamCentral (audit corrective tracking), and TEC (time and effort) working in conjunction with the system wide TeamMate technical services coordinator. Serves as the campus TeamMate Champion, in charge of administering and serving as a campus interface for system wide internal audit enterprise software.
20%: Compiles, interprets, and summarizes data in support of the annual risk assessment exercise.
10%: Provides technical in-house hardware and software IT support within the Internal Audit Office, including repairing and maintaining desktop workstations, laptops, and peripherals. Performs desktop and laptop setup, systems troubleshooting, submits and manages IT job tickets and is the liaison with Information Technology Services (ITS).
5%: Manage our office intern program.
Education: Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Knowledge of common organization- or research-specific and other computer application programs.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality.
Analytical / problem-solving skills.
Strong skills in analyzing, researching and synthesizing large amounts of data for preparing sound and relevant proposals / analyses.
