The Department of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) at Regis College seeks an Adjunct Lecturer for the fall 2021 semester specializing in Anatomy & Physiology II and lab (A&P II/BI 106). This is the second half of a two-semester, foundational course for (primarily) first year students with majors in: nursing, dental hygiene, diagnostic medical sonography, and exercise science. Classes begin September 7, 2021; this course section and the accompany lab are taught in an asynchronous, online modality.
Teach BI 106-01 (lecture) and BI 106XA01 (lab) as an asynchronous, online course and engage with all responsibilities associated with teaching the section and lab: grading, office hours, student engagement, alignment with other course sections, academic assessment.
Minimum requirement: An earned MS in Biology; PhDs welcome.
Demonstrated evidence of at least three years prior teaching experience at the undergraduate level, with expertise in online teaching and pedagogy.
Demonstrated evidence of online teaching experience.
Commitment to creating an inclusive classroom learning environment in keeping with the University's commitment to inclusive excellence in a diverse educational community.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with other STEM faculty to ensure consistency across class sections as needed.
Demonstrated familiarity with academic assessment.
Familiarity with the learning management system Moodle is preferred, but not required.
Ability to uphold the university’s commitment to inclusive excellence in a diverse educational community.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands
Normal office environment, not subject to extremes in noise, odors, etc.
May spend extended periods at terminal, on telephone, or operating other office machines requiring eye-hand coordination and finger dexterity.
